FAQ

About The Red Flag Society

Who started The Red Flag Society?

The Red Flag Society was started by JB, a Midwest RCA, out of a simple belief: carriers deserve gear that matches the work — comfortable, affordable, and built for people who take the job seriously. Read the full story on our Our Story page.

Why "Red Flag"?

On the route, a red flag means something needs attention. We took that and made it a statement instead of a warning: the carrier who shows up when nobody else will, wearing gear that says they take the job — and themselves — seriously.

How do I become part of the Society?

Buy something, wear it proud, and tell another carrier where you got it — that's genuinely how most of our growth happens. Join the news email for discounts, iphone backgrounds and new design/gear alerts.

Wearing Red Flag Society Gear

Can I wear Red Flag Society apparel while I'm on my route?

Our gear is designed for off-duty pride and layering where your local uniform policy allows it — always check your current USPS uniform and appearance guidelines (or your supervisor) before wearing non-uniform items while on duty, since policies vary by role and location. We want you repping the flag, not catching a conversation with a supervisor over it.

Is The Red Flag Society affiliated with or licensed by USPS?

No. We're an independent, carrier-owned brand — built by a working RCA, for carriers — and we're not a licensed USPS product or officially affiliated with the Postal Service. We exist because carriers deserve gear that matches the job, not because of any partnership with USPS itself.

Do you make gear for non-USPS carriers — FedEx, UPS, Amazon DSP, rural contractors?

Our roots and most of our designs are built around the USPS carrier experience, but a lot of our route-life humor and gear (heat, dogs, long days, pride in the work) travels well beyond one company's uniform. If you're not USPS but the shoe fits, wear it.

Materials + Care

What are your shirts made of?

It depends on the line — check the individual product page for exact fabric content, since we run a mix of heavyweight cotton tees, cotton/poly blends for the sweatshirts and hoodies, and dry-wicking options in select long sleeves. We build for real routes, not just a photo shoot, so durability and comfort come before anything else.

How do I wash my Red Flag Society gear so the print doesn't crack?

Turn it inside out, wash cold, skip the dryer sheets, and either hang dry or tumble dry low. Screen prints last a lot longer with cold water and low heat — high heat is what cracks a print early, not normal wear on the route. We do not use plastisol so you won't sweat as much.

Will these hold up to daily wear on the route?

That's the whole point. We're carriers building gear for carriers — every piece is chosen because it's supposed to survive dogs, weather, and a full case day, not just look good in a mirror. If something doesn't hold up the way it should, that's exactly what our returns policy below is for.

Sizing + Fit

What size should I order?

Most of our tees and long sleeves run true to size — if you're a Medium off the rack, order a Medium here. Our hoodies and sweatshirts run slightly roomier since they're built to layer over a uniform shirt in cold months, so if you like a snugger fit, size down. Every product page has a full size chart — measurements, not just S/M/L guesses — so you can check it against a shirt you already own.

Do you carry women's sizing and fits?

Yes. We're a Society, not a boys' club — a good chunk of our best-selling designs are stocked in true women's cuts, not just a unisex shirt in a smaller size. If a product page only shows unisex sizing, ask us — we're actively expanding fitted options and can point you to what's available.

I'm between two sizes — what do you recommend?

If you plan to wear it over a uniform shirt or in cold weather, size up. If you want a slimmer, off-duty look, order your usual size. When in doubt, message us before you order — we'd rather help you get it right the first time than process an exchange.

Shipping + Orders

How long does shipping take?

Do you ship to APO/FPO or international addresses?

My order arrived damaged or wrong — now what?

Email us a photo and your order number and we'll make it right — replacement or refund, your call. help@theredflagsociety.com No hoops to jump through; you deal with enough of that on the route already.
